These are civic leadership individuals in an advisory position to assist in the direction and leadership of the organization to increase literacy, including financial literacy that will stimulate self-esteem in the participants to become productive citizens.

PETER COHENDirector and Professor
Peter Cohen earned an AB in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley; an MA in Psychology from San Diego State University; and a PhD in Education and Psychology from The University of Michigan. In 2007, Dr. Cohen completed a leadership program through the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. 2016 marks his 44th year as a university teacher. He has held faculty and administrative appointments at Dartmouth College, The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, the Medical College of Georgia, and the Texas A & M University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Cohen has been internationally recognized for his research in the area of faculty development and evaluation.
THOMAS STANLEYDirector of Initiatives
Thomas Stanley is the Director of Initiatives at the Kansas Leadership Center where he has worked since 2008. In this role he has developed and launched multiple leadership programs, written leadership workbooks used nationally and teaches and coaches around leadership. He graduated from Wichita State in 2008. He is involved in Wichita through efforts in his church, Young Professionals of Wichita and the Entrepreneurship Taskforce.
SARI SCHREPFERMANExecutive Director
Freedom Hooves Therapeutic Riding Center

Since moving to Wichita in 1985, Sari has held several positions as a highly motivated, versatile professional with over 30 years of experience in training, operational management, marketing, public relations, communications, sales, advertising, business development, along with event planning and implementation. She holds a BS in Organizational Management and Leadership from Friends University.

Sari was first bitten by the non-profit bug as the Executive Director of a local medical clinic serving uninsured adults. She believes that any day you can go to work for the sole purpose of helping others, is a good day!

Sari participates in the Ups & Downs bowling league, which is committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities through physical exercise, participation and social integration. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a Kansas Leadership Center ‘Champion’, serves on the Advisory Board of Ali Foundation, and volunteers with Hands of Hope Pet Rescue. Additionally, she has worked alongside her friends in producing the Wichita Women’s Fair for the past 18 years as the Main Stage Manager.

WAJID HASSANEngineer & Political Scientist
Wajid Hassan is an Engineer by profession and a political scientist by passion with profound interest in international politics, regional politics of Asia, education, Information Technology and science. Highly cultivated judgment skills, illustrate his capability of managing complex situations from extensive experience in Networks and Electronics Engineering. Mr. Hassan is distinctly recognized for providing technical support and managing troubleshooting and configuration with style. Mr. Hassan is a Ph.D. Fellow in Technology Management at Indiana State University, USA. He earned his Masters in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University, USA. In recognition of his technical expertise, he was awarded the IEEE-P Gold Medal in the early days of his career
